Leopard Reef
Leopard Reef, Kota Kinabalu is just 45 minutes boat ride from KK Jetty out to the open sea to this unknown, beautiful reef full with colors and abundance of marine life. This dive site was named after all the leopard sharks that was once seen at the reef which now the most common sharks that can be found are the nurse and bamboo sharks. Jack fish, red snappers, and coral trout patrol Leopard Reef whilst the ribbon eels, scorpion fish, and numerous nudibranchs are camouflaged amongst the soft corals and feather stars. We have been diving Leopard Reef quite frequent of late, and Ms. Ursula, our PADI Master Scuba Diver Challenger had something to say about the dive "It's been a while since I did any blue water diving so it was great fun to descend 15m immediately, like falling. The clarity of the water up-close was superb and the colours were intense, Marco life was outstanding! We saw a few new types of nudibranches. The small fish schools were ...
Easter Egg Hunt
Eggtastic it was on Easter Sunday when 13 bunny teams of two persons searched Padang Point of the Tunku Abdul Rahman Park for easter eggs. We placed 90 eggs on land and 89 eggs underwater whilst the bunny teams were enjoying Fun Diving and snorkelling at coral garden, in Sapi Island. We started with the land search and amazingly all the eggs were accounted for with all being found within seven (7) minutes. The winning team for the land search found 22 of the easter eggs and picked up some 15l dry bags, whilst the team in last place hopped back with an empty basket and received an egg each. The underwater search was in a restricted area where no boats could enter and the bunny teams were able to snorkel in and get wet. 79 eggs were found and the winning team found 16 eggs picking up some MARES Rash Guards. Experience showed as the overall winners was the oldest bunnies in the group. A total of 33 eggs won them Fish Identification books, and t...

Our Regional Manager diving in Kota Kinabalu once more after a period of six months back with the snow in England. Dan Buxton who is Mark Hedger's personal friend from their home town, came to visit the Tunku Abdul Rahman Park again after completing his PADI Divemaster Course with us at the end of 2009.
