Your journey to Padas white water river rafting starts with the hotel transfer from Kota Kinabalu to the train ride from Beaufort to Pangi that take you along the Gorge, giving you the glimpse of the river below and the thrill to come. Basically, a trip to Padas River will give you two experience advantages:

  • Excursion of Class III-IV river.
  • A uniquely ride in an antique and historic train.

During your rafting activity, you will move through eight rapids named as Head Hunter, Lambada, Cobra, Scooby Doo, Washing Machine, Mary Go Round, Snake House and finally BBQ Rapids where you journey will come to an ending point at Rayoh after passing through it.

Two things you need to keep in mind:

  • You and other participants must have trimmed fingernails and toe nails.
  • No jewelries and valuable items allowed to be worn (or brought along) during your water rafting activity.
  • Your safety is guaranteed as long as you follow instructions given by your guide.


Padas White Water River Rafting Location


  • 5:20 AM – Pick up from hotel and transfer by coach to Beaufort Railway Station. Located in interior division of Sabah, east Malaysia on the Island of Borneo. Signing of Liability Release Form before the rafting commences.
  • 7:30 AM – Arrive at Beaufort, Get on board by train. The thrilling yet scenic ride will take around 1.5 hours – 2 hours get to Pangi Station (starting point). Train will depart at 0750 hrs. You will have 10 minutes stopped at Rayoh station to keep your belonging and get charge for rafting gears.
  • 10:30 AM – When arrived at Pangi, light refreshment will be served; safety briefing will be conducted by rafting crew. Rafting commence from starting point to Rayoh (ending point) which will take about 1 ½ – hours- 2 hours (10 km) includes of 8 points of rapids.
  • 12:30 PM – Expected time of arrive at Rayoh (ending point) for sumptuous lunch and after lunch we will depart back by train to Beaufort around 1:30 PM, estimated 2 to 2.5 hours on train ride.
  • 3:45 PM – Arrival at Beaufort Town and transfer by coach or van back to Kota Kinabalu city center (to your hotel). The journey to Kota Kinabalu city will took around 2 to – 2.5 hours.
  • 6:00 PM – Estimated time of arrival in Kota Kinabalu.
