The main attraction at the Kinabalu Park is Mount Kinabalu itself, the highest mountain peak in Malaysia and one of the highest mountains in South East Asia standing tall at 4095.2 metres above sea level. You can do mountain climbing, take a relaxing walk around Kinabalu Park or go jungle trekking in trails in the wild jungle within the national park.

If you are someone who love to experience thrilling adventures, you can register for the Mountain Torq, world’s highest and Asia’s first Via Ferrata or ‘iron road’ at 3,200m to 3,800m above sea level. This is also Malaysia’s first Via Ferrata, which local Sabahans talk proudly about.

Your visit to Kinabalu Park will be incomplete if you did not go to Poring Hot Springs. This is a popular hot spring among Sabahans and local tourists. The Poring Hot Springs is located 40 kilometers (or 25 miles) from Kinabalu Park. You will reach Poring Hot Springs in around 40 minutes depending on the traffic during your travel day.


Poring Hot Springs is actually located in the lowlands, a contrast to the Kinabalu Park area which is located in highlands. When you arrive at the Poring Hot Springs, there are several activities that can keep yourself entertained.

Poring Hot Springs entrance fee is RM15.00 per person (Malaysian Ringgit). If you’ve visited Kinabalu Park and then on to Poring Hot Springs during the same day, you can use the same entrance fee, saving you to pay twice because Kinabalu Park and Poring Hot Springs, as popular tourist attractions, are administered by the same governing body.

Poring Hot Spring Ranau Kota Kinabalu

You can take a hot water bath in the custom bathtubs or enjoy the warmth of the water in the Rock Pool just like in the video below, experience the canopy walk to feel the thrill being up in high altitude among tree tops, take pictures with friends or family, or simply take relaxing walks to enjoy beautiful views around the Poring Hot Springs main office. You can go to Poring Orchid Conservation Centre, the tropical garden and the Rafflesia flower site which is located nearby.


  • 0800 – Pick up guests from hotel –transfer for 2 hours’ drive to Nabalu Market, Kinabalu Park & join a guided walk in the Botanical Garden.
  • 1200 – Lunch at local Restaurant before proceeding to Poring Hot Spring. Once arrive, walk uphill through the treetop canopy walkway which roughly 41m high. While at Poring Hot Spring, you can take a dip the sulphur rich water tub or swimming their pool after the walk before transferred back to your hotel.
