Sabah has two main rivers for rafting, the Padas and Kiulu rivers which are certified as Grade 3 and Grade 2 respectively in the international white water rafting grading system. Under normal weather conditions the two rivers are relatively constant in depth and speed. However, heavy rains can cause them to swell into Grade 4 rivers. During this time rafting activities may be called off temporarily. Successful rafters at Padas will be presented with a certificate of accomplishment upon finishing their adventures.

Long Pasia Adventure image

This trip begin either from Long Pasia or from Long Mio, and will take you through different forest types. After a few hours trekking you will reach the top of Bukit Rimau and enjoy breathtaking views over Ulu Padas - Mountains, hills, the villages and forest stretch as far as you can see in every direction, in a very nice campsite not far from this view point. The montane forest is a tough enviroment for plants with trees that are often small with wrinkled branches. certain plant species such as orchids, pitcher and ants plants have over millions of years adjusted to these harsh conditions, they survive by either getting nutrition from leaves falling down or insects. On bukit rimau you will also find the hidden highland lake call senipong which was discovered few years back. While slowly trekking down to Long Pasia or Long Mio you will also see the magnificant Rimau Waterfall with its multi level Waterfall.
