PADI Open Water Diver Course

PADI Open Water Diver course package enables you to, dive to a depth no greater than 18 meters independently with a certified buddy that has the equivalent or higher level certification while applying the knowledge and skills that you learned during the PADI Diving course.

You will be able to plan your dive and dive your plan, log open water no stop (no decompression) dives and discover the underwater world and forever blow bubbles in the Tunku Abdul Rahman Park by continuing on and taking the PADI Advanced Open Water Diver course package or taking the daily fun diving package in Kota Kinabalu.

In the confined water dives of the PADI Open Water Diver course you will apply dive principles, learn and practice Dive Safety procedures and skills. You’ll do this in confined water in a controlled environment inside the Tunku Abdul Rahman Park at the beach. Knowledge development gives you the information that you’ll need to complete your PADI Open Water Diver course final exam. You will complete knowledge reviews, diver quizzes, and learn how to calculate your scuba dives by using the recreational dive planner. In the open water dives of the PADI Open Water Diver course, you will apply what you have learned during confined open water and knowledge development and discover the underwater world at its best.

The PADI Open Water Diver course certification shows that you have successfully completed the PADI course according to the WRSTC (World Recreational Scuba Training Council), and dive centers or resorts would require your license as a proof of certification.

PADI Open Water Diver Course Options

You have a few options to get certified for the PADI Open Water Diver course in Kota Kinabalu. Choose which method you prefer.

Option 1: The traditional approach. You spend around half day (up to 5-6 hours) watching course video in the classroom followed by two diving days. You will get four open water dives with this option. This is recommended for single travelers/guests or couples.

Option 2: This is where all three days you go for scuba diving. The first day starts off diving right away in the morning followed by an afternoon of classroom and two more days of scuba diving. During this option of the PADI Open Water Diver Course you will get five open water dives. This option is especially advised for group bookings or generally anyone that wants more dive time.

Option 3: This option is where you spend four days learning the PADI Open Water Diver Course with one day in the classroom and three days diving. With this option you will get six open water dives. This option is great for people that want to learn at a relaxed pace.

Option 4: Learn the PADI Open Water Diver course with our in-house PADI Course Director Mark Hedger at the highest level, tip top training! You will receive one on one learning instruction over three days with five open water dives.

Whats It Takes To Be Certified

  • The PADI Open Water scuba diving course consists of 3 sections.
  • Confined water dives 1 -5 and 1 mini dive.
  • Knowledge development 1 – 5.
  • Open water dives 1 – 4 and dive flexible skills.
  • You will need to complete all sections to be certified as an PADI Open Water scuba diver.
  • If you complete confined open water dives 1 – 3, knowledge development 1 – 3, and open water dives 1 & 2, then you will be certified as a PADI Scuba Diver.

Pre Requisites
